Is Glass Captions available now?

What platforms does it run on?

Glass Captions is built for Windows and macOS. The Windows beta is available now; the macOS version is in active development and coming soon. Join the beta and we'll email you the moment Mac is ready.

How low is the latency?

Glass Captions uses live partials, so words appear as they are spoken instead of arriving in delayed chunks. This keeps live captions and real-time translation captions glued to fast, continuous speakers.

Which languages are supported?

All 28+ languages are available now, with automatic language detection — including Spanish to English live captions. A captions-only mode provides same-language subtitles with no translation.

Does it support NDI and DeckLink key and fill?

NDI key+fill is available today — Glass Captions appears as a named NDI source with true alpha for vMix, OBS, TriCaster and more. DeckLink key+fill is coming soon. You can also output full-screen over black (fly-and-crop), over chroma green for keyers, or as a transparent window.

Can I use it with OBS, vMix, or TriCaster?

Yes. As live subtitles for OBS, vMix, and TriCaster, Glass Captions provides a native NDI source plus over-black, over-chroma, DeckLink, and transparent-window outputs from a single render.

Question 7

Does it work offline if my connection drops?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If your internet drops, Glass Captions keeps going on-device: it transcribes offline in 90+ languages, and translates to English offline using a downloadable model — no connection required. Live translation into other languages currently needs a connection (offline support for more target languages is on the roadmap). Tip: download an offline model ahead of time, while you're online.

Can I customize how the captions look?

Accepted Answer

Yes — deeply. You control font, size, weight, color, alignment, and position; a readability box with solid, liquid-glass, or custom-image fills and adjustable translucency; and animation styles like word-by-word reveal, scrolling lines, and card cross-fade. Try the live style customizer on this page — those are the same controls you get in the app.
